Why DID the wombat cross the road?!?

I should probably take this opportunity to explain why I chose my blog title. First of all, wombats are very cute, furry creatures whom I am quite fond of. So really this title is quite morbid but it's something I find myself asking all too frequently. We're a week into the trip and so far we have already seen 4 "deceased" wombats on the side of the road. The poor little guys are just balls of fluff. I'm sure they were just out for a leisurely wombat walk when they came upon the evil paved road that would ultimately lead to their demise. Poor wombat fellows :( I hope to goodness that our green and purple van does not ever encounter a wombat friend on the road! I don't think wombats should try to cross roads anymore.
